I am Gopala Gudapati, originally from Repalle, and currently residing in Houston, TX with my wonderful family. I am happily married to Prasanna Medisetti, and together, we are proud parents to Sai Gudapati, an immigration attorney, and Ananya Gudapati, a biology undergraduate student at Texas A&M University.
My journey in community service took a transformative turn in 2015 when I became a volunteer membership lead with the American Progressive Telugu Association (APTA). Recognizing the potential to grow and unify the community, I focused solely on expanding the organization’s reach significantly. Through dedicated efforts and strategic outreach, I successfully increased APTA’s membership by an impressive 500%, laying the foundation for a stronger and more vibrant association.
Building on this momentum, I took on greater responsibilities, serving as APTA’s President during two key terms, in 2016 and 2017-18, and later as a Board Director from 2021-22. During my presidency, I envisioned and implemented a robust organizational structure that included 30 dedicated service committees, each designed to address specific needs within the community. This structural transformation enabled APTA to operate with laser focus, enhanced efficiency, and professionalism, solidifying its reputation as one of the most respected and well-run Telugu associations in the United States.
Witnessing APTA’s growth during my tenure was a deeply fulfilling experience. It was not just about numbers; it was about creating a platform that fostered community connections, cultural preservation, and service to fraternity. Each new initiative, program, and service launched under my leadership was a step towards building a stronger and more supportive network for Telugu families in the U.S. Seeing the positive impact on the community—the smiles of students benefiting from scholarships, the support extended to families in need, and the celebration of Telugu culture—remains one of the most rewarding chapters of my life.
I am deeply committed to preserving Indian culture and promoting education. For over nine years, I worked with Silicon Andhra Manabadi, helping to establish Telugu language learning centers across South Texas, benefiting countless young students. In 2015.My dedication to community welfare extends to volunteering with the American Red Cross, embodying my passion for service.
In 2015, driven by a shared vision to support the educational aspirations of rural students in and around Repalle, my school friends and I came together to establish Aptamitra, a nonprofit foundation. Through this initiative, we aimed to bridge the educational gaps in underserved communities and empower young minds with opportunities for a brighter future.
In addition to my community work, I hosted weekly talk shows for over a decade on international platforms like TORi (Telugu One Radio on the internet), where I led the U.S. team and managed over 100 radio jockeys in live environments. I also contributed to Andhra Mirchi Radio and Radio Hungama, connecting with audiences worldwide. My love for Telugu music led me to organize movie-related groups and participate in online concerts, celebrating the richness of our cultural heritage.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, I achieved my Taekwondo Black Belt, an accomplishment that brought discipline and resilience into my daily life. Running at least five miles every day has been a cornerstone of my commitment to physical health and mental well-being.
During the pandemic, I established a devotional group to help shift focus from fear to trust in the universe and faith in God. This initiative led to the creation of the Sai Parayana group, where members came together weekly to engage in spiritual readings and learn about the teachings of various spiritual gurus of India. This platform, which fosters spiritual growth and collective positivity, continues to thrive and inspire its members to this day.
To promote the knowledge of Vedic sciences and the transformative practices of Yoga, I volunteered and played a key role in establishing the Texas chapter of Vedic Wellness University in Houston. This initiative was driven by a deep commitment to sharing ancient wisdom and holistic practices with a broader community, fostering well-being and spiritual growth.
Professionally, I work as an SAP consultant in the IT sector, balancing my career with a deep dedication to personal growth and community service. My life is a harmonious blend of professional excellence, cultural pride, and heartfelt contributions to society, driven by a desire to uplift others and make a meaningful difference.

• Offer Direct Immigration Services
• Build Strategic Partnerships with like-minded organizations/groups

I am committed to creating more leadership opportunities for our community members because I believe that every leader can make a positive impact. Over the years, I have been actively supporting our members in their careers, ensuring they achieve success and fulfillment in their professions. My vision now is to establish a platform in India that assists our community members and their families with all types of medical needs. Additionally, I aim to develop resources that empower our members with the knowledge and tools necessary to excel in their pursuits.
Contributing to our community has always been a passion of mine. I am dedicated to organizing leadership training events across the United States and India to ensure our members are equipped with practical skills that can be applied in their daily lives. One area that deserves more focus is engineering. I plan to promote this field by raising awareness of how an engineering degree can open doors across various U.S. industries. I also envision traveling across states to foster discussions on innovation, ultimately aiming to establish an innovation lab that provides our young community members with valuable internship opportunities. By the end of 2026, my goal is to have submitted at least a dozen intellectual property filings or patents, supporting the growth of our community’s knowledge base and talent pool.
I intend to build partnerships with universities to bring this innovation lab to life. This collaborative space will allow us to create solutions that are not only innovative but also sustainable. Additionally, the lab will help develop a network of support with entrepreneurs, building a continuous funding cycle to make our organization self-sustaining. By working together, we can bring these innovations to India, fostering stronger connections with Indian entrepreneurs and creating a meaningful impact at home.
In the past, I have successfully led various initiatives, including bringing digital transparency to our operations. I am excited to continue this journey, fostering leadership, innovation, and growth for the benefit of our entire community.

Madhav Talari joined APTA at its inception in 2008. Started first newsletter. Took Nextgen Chair position in 2020. Hired best talent and led high performance team that moved the needle on Nextgen services. Motivated many young students to present their journey to next level of students. Selected as Vice President as part of Executive committee in 2024. Guided more than 10 committees and created service chakra to take many services that APTA does to all members with a single picture. Guided EC team to choose multi-day, multi-regional events to foster better collaborations across members with reasonable costs. And took the lead to start that with 16th year Anniversary event in VA. My committee teams provided quality SAT, career courses and raised revenues, creating new way other than asking for donations. Used these funds for good causes like ASEP and helping differently abled students in near future. Our team did newsletters that showcased much of great work APTA did in 2024. Travelled to many east coast and central locations. Also, led by example by volunteering time and donating money for APTA’s growth and member advancement.

APTA has been a beacon of community service, fostering connections and empowering youth. My journey with APTA began almost six years ago, as the first city coordinator for Harrisburg, PA. Started with six close-knit families meeting in a Mechanicsburg coffee shop soon grew to 25 families within couple of weeks. Today, I take pride in our thriving local APTA community of over 100 families who come together multiple times a year to celebrate events, embodying the strong sense of belonging we’ve cultivated.
In 2019-20, the then-executive team entrusted me with the role of Membership Regional Director for the Empire region, during which we expanded APTA’s presence across the Northeast. During 2021-22, amidst the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, I was bestowed with the responsibility of Chairing Srirama Raksha. Despite the hardships, our team demonstrated unwavering determination and resilience, overcoming obstacles to emerge stronger and more united than ever.
As the 2023 RVP for the Empire region, I focused on revitalizing community enthusiasm. Highlights included organizing Global Star Ram Charan’s visit to New York after RRR’s Oscar nominations and leading vibrant Ugadi and Diwali celebrations. These events brought together APTULU across Northeast states with rituals, captivating performances, and festive feasts. We also hosted memorable city picnics that strengthened bonds and created lasting memories.
In 2024, I’m honored to continue as RVP and take on the role of Secretary for APTA’s 16th Anniversary celebrations. This milestone fills me with a renewed sense of purpose as we embark on a new chapter. As I step forward as a Vice President contestant, my vision is clear: to reaffirm our dedication to uplifting one another economically and politically, both in the U.S. and within our Telugu states. Together, we can strengthen our community, preserve our heritage, and create a brighter future for generations to come.

I am excited to announce my candidacy for the position of APTA Vice President for the 2025-2026 term. My journey within APTA has been marked by a commitment to service and leadership, having held key positions such as ASEP Texas State Coordinator(2020), Joint Secretary(2021-22), and Membership Committee Chair(2023). I have actively assisted master’s students in securing accommodations and job placements. I also organized impactful medical camps, as well as cultural and sports events during Sankranti. I came to know about APTA through kapsrocks-a community organization where i was a core member. The flagship program ASEP attracted me and provoked me to take active participation as a regional director from 2019 to 2020. I served APTA under different leaders along side different cadre. I voluntarily organized various sports at my home town under APTA. I constantly encouraged multiple people to take APTA membership. My services to APTA and voluntary actions to promote APTA were recognized and provided me the opportunity to serve as a chair in the 2023 APTA convention leadership team.

I firmly believe that true wealth is measured not by monetary assets but by the contributions one makes to society—be it through time, effort, or resources. This philosophy has been the cornerstone of my extensive journey in community service and leadership, both locally and globally.
In 2024, I had the honor of serving as the Chair of the APTA Sri Rama Raksha Committee, where I led initiatives to identify, research, and implement new benefits for the APTA community. This role involved understanding the evolving needs of our members and introducing programs that provided meaningful and lasting value.
Prior to this, in 2023, I served as the APTA Vice-Chair of the ASAP Committee, contributing to the Student Services Program. This program offered crucial guidance to F1 visa students, addressing essential needs such as accommodation for new arrivals, career assistance for OPT students, and training and placement opportunities for graduates. My efforts ensured that these students received the support necessary to thrive in their academic and professional endeavors.
In 2023, during the APTA National Convention held in Atlanta, I had the privilege of serving as the Celebrities Chair for the event. This role required me to manage a range of responsibilities related to ensuring a smooth and memorable experience for prominent figures attending the convention. I oversaw tasks such as filing and obtaining visas for celebrities and distinguished political and non-political guests traveling from India. Additionally, I coordinated their travel logistics, including booking flights and planning itineraries. My responsibilities extended to organizing hospitality arrangements, ensuring that all guests were provided with comfortable accommodations, seamless transportation, and a warm and welcoming experience throughout their stay. This role allowed me to work closely with a dynamic team, managing high-profile logistics and contributing to the overall success of the convention.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, when volunteer participation declined significantly, I took proactive measures to support vulnerable populations. Through the Meals on Wheels America organization, I organized and personally delivered food and essential supplies to elderly individuals in need, ensuring they had access to necessities during a time of heightened uncertainty. This experience reinforced my commitment to community service and highlighted the importance of stepping up in times of crisis.
My dedication to charitable activities in the Dallas area is evident through various initiatives. I organized fundraising campaigns to support victims of the HudHud cyclone, mobilizing community resources to provide relief during this crisis. Additionally, I coordinated multiple blood drives across the DFW metroplex, raising awareness about the importance of blood donation and contributing to life-saving efforts.
Beyond my local efforts, I have actively supported causes in India by organizing and facilitating events for the Praja Rajyam and JanaSena parties in Dallas. Notably, I coordinated the Pravasa Garjana event in Dallas, featuring Pawan Kalyan Garu, which was a significant success. Additionally, I have been involved in advocacy and charitable programs to uplift underprivileged rural villages, focusing on enhancing education and healthcare. These initiatives reflect my commitment to making a tangible difference in people’s lives and highlight the service commitments of these parties.
I have had the privilege of contributing to impactful projects with Creative Visions Social Services, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to fostering charitable and educational opportunities. This experience has reinforced my commitment to service and my drive to create lasting change.
I am actively involved with the National Children’s Cancer Society (NCCS), a 501(c)(3) non-profit that supports children with cancer, their families, and survivors. I also provide financial support to the organization. This experience has deepened my commitment to helping vulnerable populations and making a meaningful impact in the lives of those facing health challenges.
Through my various leadership roles and community service initiatives, I have learned that true fulfillment comes from giving back and making a positive impact. Whether organizing events, mobilizing resources or mentoring others, I am dedicated to helping individuals and communities thrive. My passion for service and belief in the value of collective efforts continue to inspire my work, and I look forward to contributing to even greater causes in the future.
